DYLAN MAHONEY hits In House with a massive day of Hip Hop. Dylan has just come of a successful run with “THE DREAM DANCE COMPANY” as well as huge world tour with the queen herself KYLIE MINOGUE! GB Dance Co can’t wait for this day!

As the year starts to find its feet GBDC is in full rehearsal mode for the 2015 season at the Easter Show! New routines and new look from top to bottom.

We would also like to take this chance to welcome all the new students to the GBDC family. We are over the moon with all the new faces we have seen in the first week and can’t wait for the more still to come.

GLENDA BENTON & MITCH OWERS

Glenda & Mitch have a wealth of experience in teaching all facets of dance. They have worked as professional dancers, singers & actors, performing all over the world with the biggest and best in the entertainment industry. They have worked in film, television, commercials, theatre, cabaret, theatre restaurant, cruise ships, corporate & special events.

They have expertise in professional production, direction & choreography on shows too many to list. Glenda founded the studio 45 years ago and now with husband Mitch as Co Principal they form a formidable team. COREY BLAKE

Trained in Jazz, Musical theatre, Hip Hop and Contemporary Corey has been able to use these mixes of genres along with a passion for the industry to become a frequently seen face in the competitive Sydney dance circuit. Corey has been able to work with a variety of top Choreographers including Ame Delves, Michael Boyd, Marko Panzic, Squared Division, Adam Williams and Project Moda. Top Artists have also had the pleasure of working with Corey using him in tours, Film Clips and live performances. Artist include Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, The Veronicas, Anthony Callea, Wes Carr, Kelly Rowland and Stevie Wonder.Coming from Parents who have also had long star studded career and have been behind one of Sydney’s top studios for 43 years GB DANCE CO (The Glenda Benton Academy of Dance). They have been able to give Corey a platform for his training and also in recent year’s choreography. The highlight of Corey’s career arrived when he was scouted by leading modelling agency in Milan 2morrow Models. And was part of Milan Fashion week which he has built on a flourishing modelling career since returning to Sydney he has signed with one of the biggest Agencies CHADWICK MODELS and has been proudly represented by PJ CLARKE and the team at JEEP MGMT in Dancing, Presenting and Acting.

Kat Risteska

Kat is a successful Actress/Singer/Dancer & Entrepreneur.

Kat Graduated from the Full Time Performing Arts Course at Brent Street Studios in 2009. She has also trained at NIDA, The Actors Pulse, TAFTA and The Actors Hub. She attended the Talent Development High School at Brent Street Studios.

Kat’s television credits include Home & Away, Dance Academy, ABC’s Sam Fox Adventures and in the Australian Feature Film ‘The Combination’. Kat placed in the top 6 of SYTYCD series 2 in 2009 X-Factor (2012) Kat made the judges chosen girl group ‘Black Ivory’, mentored in the UK by super group One Direction.

Professional Musical Theatre credits include: ANNIE, The Wizard Of Oz & Oliver.

Working with prolific choreographers such as Kelly Abbey, Matt Lee, Marko Panzic, Shannon Holtzapffel, Debbie Ellis, Jason Gilkison, Tucker Bartley, Sarah Boulter, Jason Winters, Kelly Akers, Tabatha & Napoleon and many others.

Kat has danced for some of the Worlds A-List performers including: Kylie Minogue, Guy Sebastian, Olivia Newton-John, Jessica Mauboy, Kelly Clarkson, Jimmy Barnes and many other incredible artists.

Kat’s own (independently managed and produced) music career has seen her release 4 original singles to date under her stage name KEEDA: Ain’t No Cinderella, Rock With You, Control and LOCA.

RAELENE COPPOLA

Like every little girl I started dancing at the age of 3 learning physical culture, ballet, tap and jazz. As I got older I also started musical theatre, modern expressive and singing. After singing and dancing in numerous school musicals and representing the school at State gymnastics I studied Dance at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Whilst studying dance full-time I worked with Glenn Wood, Guillermo Keys-Arenas, Mary Duchesne OAM, Greame Watson, Patrick Harding-Irmer, Ramon Dorringo and Kim Walker. After graduating I spent a year competing and placing 3rd in the National Ladies competition of BJP Physical Culture. I gained registration as a fitness leader with FIA and presented workshops on fitness for dancers and stretching techniques at the University of Western Sydney for BA Dance students. In 1993 I started dancing for Regency Artists and danced across Sydney with artists such as Normie Rowe, Barry Crocker, Little Patty and Kamhal. I have taught jazz, tap, modern, hip hop and ballet at a variety of dance schools including Dynamic Dance Academy, Dancetime Connection and The Australian College of Entertainment. In 1995 I did my first tour of Japan, dancing and singing for Kim Michael Productions and returned to Japan in 1996 for a second tour. My performance repertoire also includes work for Sydney Theatre Company and TVC working with Kim Walker (Sydney Dance Co) and Michael Caton (Packed to the Rafters). In 1996 I completed studying a Graduate Diploma in Education and started teaching Dance and Drama in secondary schools. In the school system I have taken students to perform at the RAS Royal Easter Show, Rock Eisteddfod, Dance Championships, City of Sydney Eisteddfod and local community events. In 2013 I started teaching Creative Arts in primary schools and joined the teaching team at Glenda Benton Dance Academy. It is a joy to share my love of dance with the students I teach.
